If you're planning to get a train from Penarth today it is advised to check your journey as most services are severely delayed or cancelled due to flooding on the lines.

Transport for Wales made an announcement that said: ''Cancellations to services between Cardiff Central and Rhymney

Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Cardiff Central and Rhymney trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.

''Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes. Disruption is expected until 12:00 17/02.

''If you have experienced a delay or cancellation, please contact our customer relations team or pick up a form from your nearest ticket office. You can email us using: [email protected].''

Cogan has a few more services running but again limited, delayed and some cancelled.
