Penarth Town Council Announce £1000 Grants for Local Independent Businesses

Penarth Town Council has today announced that they are making business grants of £1000 available as part of their Independent Traders Fund.

They said: ''At Penarth Town Council we are proud of the many independent businesses that make our town centre a unique and vibrant place to live and visit.

''We have developed the Independent Traders Fund as we know how hard the past few months have been all types of Independent businesses. Because of this, we want to provide some support in these extraordinary times.

"Penarth Town Council is offering grants of up to £1,000 to help with the cost of business diversification in relation to the Covid-19 Pandemic."

Grants up to the value of £1,000 to contribute to post COVID-19 recovery.

Grants can be used to:

• Meet the cost of purchasing COVID secure equipment and other supplies for the purpose of diversifying the business to comply with Wales's Social Distancing Legislation.

• Assist businesses with the extra expense while a loss of income has occurred.

All independently owned businesses in Penarth with an annual turnover of less than £75,000 per annum that were forced to close physical premises due to COVID-19 are eligible for the grant.

Applicants must have been an established business in Penarth prior to March 2020 and been trading for at least 1 year.
