Temperatures in Penarth are set to peak at 27°C this week, the Met Office has forecast.

Though meteorological autumn has offically begun, temperatures this week could be higher than throughout the whole of August in Wales, and across much of the UK.

This afternoon and tomorrow, residents can expect warm weather and sunshine with temperatures around 25°C and a high of 27-28°C on Tuesday afternoon.

From Wednesday, although it is expected to remain fairly warm, showers are possible, heavy at times with a risk of some rumbles of thunder.
