Penarth RNLI were called out twice this weekend to rescue vessels.

On Saturday night, just after 7.20pm, the volunteer crew were paged to a 50ft, 26 ton yacht with three people on board that had suffered mechanical failure.

Penarth's Atlantic 85 lifeboat launched to attend the scene, and the yacht was taken under tow and brought safely to Cardiff Bay.

The lifeboat then returned to station where it was cleaned and made ready for its next service.

Then on Sunday night, at 9pm, the crew received its second call-out of the weekend.

They responded to a 25ft fishing vessel that had broken down in the channel.

After arriving on scene in Penarth's Atlantic 85 lifeboat, the crew established a tow and brought the vessel safely into Cardiff Bay.
