The RNLI's lifeboat station in Penarth is looking for willing and available volunteers to join the existing team in the role of Inshore Lifeboat Crew.
Established in 1861 and covering part of the Bristol Channel, Penarth Lifeboat Station operates two inshore lifeboats, a B class Atlantic 85 and a D class.
Successful applicants will undertake and maintain Competency Based Training as necessary to fulfil the role of crew member, to be on call for lifeboat 'shouts', to attend exercises and to contribute to the overall upkeep of the station, lifeboats and equipment.
If you are a team player with good general fitness and the ability to learn new skills this could be the role for you.
You will need to be flexible with working hours, sometimes being needed on weekends and at anti-social hours.
The role will help the Penarth RNLI save lives at sea by ensuring that lifeboats are in a state of permanent readiness and crewing the lifeboat on service and exercise, under the command of the Helm.
No previous maritime experience needed.
This is a volunteer opportunity within the RNLI. RNLI volunteers are people who, unpaid and of their own free will, contribute their time, energy and skills to support the purposes of the RNLI.
RNLI volunteers may perform a variety of tasks and duties, under direction and guidance, using their skills, knowledge and time to help the RNLI best achieve its objectives.
You must live or work in Penarth and be between 17 and 55 years of age.
Please apply online before 1st December by clicking the red button below.
