As the warmer weather continues to grace our seaside town and residents spend more time outdoors, footage of nature in action has been captured across Penarth and in the video above you can catch a glimpse of a seal in local waters.

Jamie Anderson, a local resident, was on a walk with his family on Thursday last week when he got the footage on the channel side of the sluice gates (at the Penarth end of the Barrage).

He said: "I've spoken to a couple of the chaps that work at the barrage control and they think the same seal has been back annually for several years.

"With the unseasonably warm spring and the extra time people have had to spend walking across the barrage, I think it's been easier to spot him/her this year."

Jamie's daughters Molly and Maisy loved sighting the seal and are very happy they got the chance to say hello and capture it on video.

If you have photos/ footage of nature in the local area please do feel free to send them in using our 'Nub It' button, we would love to see them.
