Victoria Primary School's PTA has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for new playground equipment.

A trim trail and other equipment for the playground is needed for the children to enjoy a range of outdoor activities.

The school usually raises money through events such as their annual Christmas Fair and Summer Fete. But COVID-19 restrictions have led the PTA to set up a GoFundMe page instead.

Philippa Dixon, 42, a member of Victoria Primary School's PTA and mother to two of the school's pupils, told Nub News: "It was a joint idea to set up the page to attract as much attention as possible," said Philippa.

"It's really important for the children to have outdoor activities and part of the funding will also go to buying outdoor gym equipment for the children too."

"The equipment has been preselected with help from pupils on the school council so, with the fundraiser, you can be really sure that the children have actually chosen the equipment they would like."

The GoFundMe page was initially set up at the end of January and the fundraiser went live in February. At the time of writing this article, the page had raised a total of £895 of its £5,000 target.
