Figures released show high levels of parking tickets at seaside towns by Vale of Glamorgan Council, with Penarth a particular 'target' having two of the region's three top tickets roads.

A freedom of information (FOI) made to the Vale of Glamorgan Council by the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) revealed that the most ticketed street in the county between July 2021 and July 2022 was Windsor Road in Penarth with 3,491 penalty charge notices (PCNs) issued that raised £118,307.25

This was followed by Evans Street in Barry with 2,290; Glebe Street, Penarth with 1,751; and Redbrink Crescent, Barry, with 996 PCNs.

The total amount accumulated so far over the same period of time for the whole of the Vale of Glamorgan is £326,953.

There is still money outstanding and these are at various stages of enforcement through High Court-appointed bailiffs.
