The Welsh Government announcement has confirmed that for the first time since March hairdressers will be able to reopen their doors and Penarth venues are looking forward to their customers return.

We spoke to Blu Hair Design about the news. They said: ''We are so excited to open up Blu Hair Design once again.

"It feels like we are starting a new business, starting afresh.

"It is a reset for Blu but with our same clientele. It's exciting times."

Hello Gorgeous in Penarth outlined the safety measures they would be taking. They said: ''Just a little insight into when we finally open. We will be opening from 9 am to 9 pm. We will do face time consultations where possible.

"All customers will be asked to sign a disclaimer that they do not have any coronavirus symptoms. You will be asked to sanitize hands upon entering the salon, this will be provided for you upon entering.

"We will not be doing dry haircuts. We will not be able to do any walk-ins. Appointments only. We will not have a waiting area, therefore you will be unable to bring in family and friends with you to wait.

"Stylists will be working on a one to one basis, they will be with you only and not attending to any other client during your appointment.

"We will have to take deposits for all services, as we cannot afford to have clients not show up for appointments.

"We will have PPE for both staff and customers, however, there will be a charge of £3 per customer.

"All staff will be working on a rota system, hence the longer opening hours. This will ensure we are able to work to the 2-metre rule, for your safety and the safety on my team.

"We can't wait to see you all."

Lots of venues have announced their reopening on Monday but the experience will be a bit different to what customers are used to.
