Penarth: Vale Council explains decision to fell Windsor Road trees

By Alex Jones 21st Jul 2021

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has explained its decision to cut down two ash trees on Windsor Road.

They were felled on Sunday morning and several residents expressed their disappointment.

A Vale Council spokesperson told Nub News why these measures were necessary: "These two trees have been removed as unfortunately they had serious cases of ash dieback.

"That is a disease the affects the structure of ash trees. Once it reaches an advanced stage, the tree has to be felled as there is no cure for the infection."

Only sad stumps remain - one outside M & Co and the other near the zebra crossing opposite Grape Tree.
