Penarth Coastguard Rush to Rescue Man Overboard with Barry RNLI

Penarth Coastguard and Barry RNLI rushed to rescue a man who went overboard in Sully Bay.

The joint effort took place as the teams responded to their pagers at 11.34 am on Friday morning.

Milford Haven coastguard had a report of a person in the water in Sully Bay.

Once on scene, the crew identified that the Laser dinghy had snapped its mast and the owner was in the process of making his rigging secure.

The dinghy was taken in tow and returned to Sully slipway.

The Sailor was kitted up for the sailing conditions, his radio that he purchased a couple of months ago was a vital great addition with his gear failure today in getting the help that he needed quickly.
