Musicians from the annual Penarth Chamber Music Festival will be hosting a taster concert at Penarth Pier Pavilion on April 14.

Six musicians including sopranos and violinists will play at the concert which raises money to fund the annual summer festival, taking place from June 23 – June 26 with concerts at the Penarth Pier Pavilion and All Saints Church in Victoria Square.

Alice Neary, 49, who is organising the concert and annual festival with her husband David, told Nub News: What we're trying to do is give a taster of what's to come in the summer festival. It's a classical chamber music concert and I would say the music is very uplifting, exciting, and extremely beautiful.

"The Penarth Pier Pavilion is a great place and has a very good acoustic for live music. We're also very excited to have Rebecca Evans singing who is the patron of our festival and a world-famous soprano, so we're really looking forward to that."

Starting in 2014, this will be the festival's eighth year. Previously, the taster concert has raised approximately £1,200 from ticket sales which helped to fund the festival.

Visitors to the concert on April 14 can buy tickets here or at Penarth Pier Pavilion when you arrive.

The CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust, which subsidises free tickets for events, has also provided free tickets to the April 14 concert for 8-25-year-olds.
