Entries are now open for the Wales Business Awards 2022 and Penarth business owners are encouraged to put themselves forward.

Presented by Chambers Wales, South East, South West and Mid, the awards provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) businesses in Penarth and across the Vale of Glamorgan the opportunity to compete for prestigious accolades.

The Wales Business Awards, sponsored by Avast Business, returns after a hiatus due to the pandemic and will celebrate the businesses who turned survival into opportunity, engaged with their teams, and innovated.

Creating a better applicant experience, the nomination process has been simplified this year and introduces video entries across a range of categories including 'Global Business of the Year', 'Green Business of the Year' and the 'Workplace Wellbeing Award'.

The Chamber will also be awarding 'Welsh Business of the Year' at the ceremony on June 9 at St Fagans National Museum of History, which sees broadcaster Gethin Jones return as host.

The Wales Business Awards 2022 marks the start of an exciting partnership between the Chamber and Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, founder of StartUp Awards National Series – Wales and Fast Growth 50.

The collaboration will recognise the success of businesses at each level in Wales: start-up, SME, and high growth.

Paul Slevin, President of Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, said: "The Wales Business Awards are a brilliant way to recognise the efforts of Welsh businesses and their employees. Businesses have demonstrated agility, creativity and innovation against a backdrop of uncertainty, so we look forward to seeing this year's applicants.

He continued: "We are delighted that the Wales Business Awards will be partnering with The StartUp Awards National Series – Wales and Fast Growth 50, bridging the gap between these prestigious awards to recognise successful SMEs. Through this partnership, we will be able to celebrate the best of business in Wales at every stage of their growth."

Entries will close on April 1, with the finalists set to be announced at the end of the month.
