The Windsor Road tapas restaurant Bar 44 will close for "a few days" after a member of the team was told to self-isolate.

In a social media post, the restaurant announced:

"We have taken the decision to close Bar 44 Penarth from Friday 2nd July for a few days as a precaution.

"The safety of our guests and team are paramount and following a self-isolation situation across the 44 group, we have had to make this tough decision.

"We are now contacting all guests with reservations today and tomorrow to advise them of the situation.

"We have limited availability for Friday and Sunday lunch in Asador44 and Bar44 Cardiff should you like to rebook via the Bar44 and Asador 44 websites.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming guests back as soon as we can."

This comes four months after director Natalie Owen announced that the original Cowbridge branch would be closing due to the pandemic.

Nub News has been unable to reach Bar 44 for further information.
