Penarth Athletic Club will close temporarily, as several staff members have tested positive for Coronavirus.

The club's chairman Steve Newman shared the message on social media, saying they have taken the "ultra-cautious" approach.

"IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR MEMBERS," the annoucement read.

"Over the past few days, several of our staff have tested positive for Covid.

"Under the circumstances we have taken the ultra-cautious decision to CLOSE THE CLUB temporarily - thus ensuring that everyone is kept as safe as possible.

"Track and trace have contacted us and we have followed all protocols meticulously.

"We will fully sanitise the facility before we reopen (probably Thursday 19th).

"Cricket matches will continue as normal but without the bar facility. Travelling teams have been informed.

"Please feel free to contact if you have any issues."
