Community is one of the core values of Nub News - it's at the heart of everything we do. That's why we're supporting local businesses and promoting the 'shop local' message in the run up to Christmas.
Local retailers are keen to encourage customers back to the high street during what is normally one of the busiest periods of the year.
To help traders get back on their feet, Penarth Nub News has launched a virtual Christmas market - a place where local traders can share details of their festive stock, menus, special offers and deals, opening times, etc.
Foxy's Deli and Cafe are offering a diverse range of beautifully presented hampers.
Cheeses, chutneys, chocolates and much more - all on offer as part of five "beautifully packaged" themed hampers.

The Washington Buildings shop is offering a great range of children's toys, jigsaws, confectionery, Christmas cards, Christmas wrap and accessories and much more.

Beachcliff Fish & Chips is offering a new "Christmas in Batter" menu from now until the big day itself.
The popular shop on The Esplanade is offering sprouts, stuffing balls, pigs in blankets and even mince pies deep fried in a crispy golden batter.
Kingsley Hughes of Beachcliff said "We're so pleased at how our Christmas in Batter items have turned out. The idea has raised a few eyebrows but when we've offered samples, people are converted instantly.
"For hardcore fans we also have a whole meal available, our Merry Chipmas meal which includes our Christmas in Batter items with chicken, gravy, chips and mushy peas".
The Christmas menu launches at the same time as Beachcliff introduces a new bar offering which includes a range of draught beer and cider along with wines and bottled lager. For a limited time, alcoholic drinks are just £3 when purchased with food.
Willmore's are offering two spectacular festive deals this year.
Either gorge yourself on their Willmore's Christmas Platter (turkey and stuffing sandwiches, brie and cranberry sandwiches, sausage and cranberry rolls, homemade mince pie with clotted cream, mini macarons and chocolate logs, homemade pecan and cranberry scones with strawberries and jam) OR...
feast upon their Christmas Dinner Takeaway (stuffed turkey crown or nut and veg roast with parsnips, carrots, sprouts, roasties, spiced red cabbage and Willmore's famous Yorkshire puddings).
Christmas at Hamptons hardly needs promotion or introduction, but this year they'd like to draw attention to their all new food hall.
"This year we've launched our new food hall. We're introducing delicious and exquisite artisan food, many from local and Welsh producers, many from further afield.
"All the products are made by people passionate about food, from biscuits, confectionary, tea, coffee, bacon curing kits, garlic dressings and Welsh honey-infused gins."
This year also sees the introduction of Hamptons' Hampers, designed to bring separated families together from afar.
"These hampers are for people who want to send gifts to friends, relatives or colleagues who they might not be able to see this time around. We will either deliver them personally if sent locally or we can post them further afield."

John Williams has recently started a plant nursery. He's hoping the following Christmas offerings will help get his business off the ground.
John says: "I have a small number of homemade Christmas wreaths, and also planted up bowls for Christmas presents. I will deliver these.
"I can get hold of some Nordman Christmas trees 5'-6' tall, nice and bushy, for £15 delivered too."
