Undeterred by the council's decision to bump the Cosmeston nativity out of the medieval village, Eden Church Penarth picked up from where it left two years ago to run its 12th Nativity live at the lakeside on Sunday December 12, 2021.

Over 200 children and adults gathered on a fresh December early evening to watch a live outdoor authentic production of the nativity.

One of the highlights was the involvement of many children who got involved in the shepherds and angels visitation to the manger.

The lakeside setting turned out to be a good one as the large crowd enjoyed the narrated story told with the help of music and striking lighting as the light dimmed into darkness.

Over 45 cast and crew made this live event happen and all for free to the local Penarth community. In addition visitors were offered free refreshments and a family Christmas pack. Though dark and cold, it was good to see so many people stay afterwards and connect outdoors.

If you missed the live show don't worry the Covid alternative for 2020 is available to view on YouTube here.

Attached is a montage of images took during the performance.
