Resident Chris Haines was stunned to find the freaky furniture this morning.

Is this the most considerate act of fly-tipping you've ever seen?

A cream sofa has appeared on the Wales Coastal Path viewpoint in Penarth Head Park.

"I thought DFS had opened a Penarth showroom," remarked resident Chris Haines after stumbling upon the incongruous couch during his morning walk.

"Must be the comfiest seat on the Wales Coast Path. Won't be long before the Council removes it."

A Vale of Glamorgan Council spokesperson said:

"The Council is aware of this instance of fly-tipping and officers have been sent to clear the waste. Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact the Council.

"Our environmental enforcement officers regularly patrol known fly-tipping hotspots and respond to any reports relating to this offence.

"Fly-tipping is a crime and an issue we take extremely seriously. Anyone found to be committing this type of offence could face serious consequences, which include being issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice", prosecution, fines of up to £50,000 or even imprisonment."

If you have any information as to the appearance of this surreal settee, please email [email protected].
