Cardiff and Vale UHB's Medical Illustration team have recently opened a brand new exhibition of their work in the corridors of University Hospital Llandough (UHL).

Medical Illustration provide a number of services to the UHB including clinical and general photography, graphic design, a poster service for scientific conferences, and a printing service.

Medical Illustration supports the delivery of safe and effective care, in terms of diagnosis and monitoring, as well as supporting teaching, research and corporate activities.

In 2018, the team won a staggering nine awards at the annual Institute of Medical Illustrators awards.

However, while some of their work ends up in the public eye, much of it remains internal to the health board where it is predominantly seen by staff.

Now, thanks to an exhibition coordinated by Jan Sharp, patients and public alike will have an exciting opportunity to see for themselves with world-class work undertaken by Medical Illustration.

A mixture of photography, graphic design, illustration, animation, and information will be on display on the ground floor main corridor of UHL until the end of September.

Bolette Jones, Head of Medical Illustration, said, "I'm very proud of the work the team does I feel that anyone visiting the exhibition can see why. I would encourage anyone visiting UHL to take the time to go and see it."

Staff who wish to use Medical Illustration's service can contact them by emailing [email protected] or calling 029 2184 3305.
