Man airlifted to hospital after fall at beach near Penarth

A man was airlifted to hospital yesterday (June 21) after falling on the rocks at the beach in Swanbridge near Penarth.  

A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesperson said: "At approx. midday yesterday, HM Coastguard were called to a report of an injured man at Swanbridge.  

"Penarth and Barry Coastguard Rescue teams were sent, alongside the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Search and Rescue Helicopter from St Athan.  

"The casualty was treated on scene by the helicopter paramedic and then airlifted to Heath Hospital." 

No further information has been released.
