Lower Penarth Community Association are responsible for the management and day to day running of the Community Centre at Brockhill Way in Penarth.

The Association is a registered charity and managed by the Trustees of the charity. The hall is home to a diverse range of groups of all ages from babies through to senior citizens, in addition the hall is available for hire.

Over the last couple of years there has been a considerable level of investment in the hall's facilities including a professional quality audio/visual system, CCTV and enhanced security systems along with improvements to the fabric of the building. We have also been successful in applying for an alcohol licence which was granted in the latter part of 2023.

The hall is busy on most days of the week, but the committee are keen to increase the range of activities that would be of benefit to the local community. To this end we are currently collaborating with a local film company to launch a community cinema showing films both old and new at a reduced rate.

However, all of this activity depends on a committed and experienced management committee, we are now in a position where all of our hard work is at jeopardy due to an urgent need for additional trustees, In particular we need the following:

Secretary – duties include, liaising with the local authority regarding repairs, engaging contractors to carry out maintenance activity, contract management and the provision of support the Chair of the management committee. The main requisite for this role is a willingness to get involved and a can-do attitude, ideally experience of Microsoft software would be beneficial.

Booking Secretary – this involves the management of the communities online booking system, confirming bookings, informing the Treasurer of invoices to be sent and liaison with hirers.

Both roles are unpaid and would involve a commitment of some 10 or 12 hours a month.
