Keyif, a Turkish restaurant situated in Penarth, has received the Good Food Award status for 2020.

Only 350 eateries across the UK achieved 2020 Good Food Award status.

The website summarises what helped Keyif achieve the highly sought after award.

It said: ''Over the last twelve months we have evaluated customer feedback and these premises have demonstrated exceptional levels of food quality, service and value when compared to our industry benchmarks in their category.

''In recognition of this achievement they have been duly awarded the 2020 Good Food Award.''

The awards began in 2002. The Good Food Awards are compiled, scored and written each year so there are always new entries and deletions.

Places are ranked on the following:

• Offers the finest Delicious Dishes

• Ranks well against competitors

• Consistently receives positive customer feedback

• Has a great Food Hygiene Score

• Scores highly amongst our policy scorecard

Business owners can register their interest to be included and readers can also make nominations too.

The executive editor of the Good Food Awards said: ''With some 526,238 eating establishments within the UK, competition for our 2019 Good Food Award was unsurprisingly tough.

''A record number of UK food premises brought a record number of entrants and winners. Some 7,368 votes were cast for the finalists by readers, customers and fans alike and now it's nearly time to do it all again.''
