Local Recycling Centre Closes After Latest Coronavirus Announcement

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has made the decision to close their recycling centres in Barry and Llandow where Penarth residents would take waste.

The announcement from Boris Johnson yesterday stated that all but essential travel can no longer take place and so the decision has been made in line with this.

Social distancing practices had been taking place at the recycling centres but local residents described queues of cars snaking back to Sully from the popular Barry site.

The council said: ''Barry and Llandow Recycling Centres are now closed until further notice. Stay home and save lives.''

Waste collections will still take place in Penarth with an extension of the two black bin bag limit to four and recycling still being collected.

Garden waste will not be collected and you will no longer be able to deposit this at the recycling centres.
