Dog Adventure Land, an outdoor dog day-care centre which operates across the Vale of Glamorgan, is expanding its services as it sets to repurpose a site in Rhoose and become the first business in South Wales to offer dogs a one stop shop including a dog-grooming salon, overnight boarding facilities, day care facilities, training solutions and access to a dog behaviourist and hydrotherapy. The new site plans will also include a shop for dog accessories and merchandise.

With over 10 years of working as canine carers, Dog Adventure Land was set up to enable dogs to be dogs in a natural environment. This provides many benefits, backed by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, including helping to decrease boredom and encourage natural behaviours that set off their senses. The new site will also feature an area of wildflowers to encourage biodiversity but also support dogs with visual stimulation.

Sean Mayor, Owner of Dog Adventure Land, said: "We are extremely excited to be submitting plans to provide dogs in the local area with all the support they need to thrive from just one site.

"We have really seen the demand for our services increase in the past couple of years so expanding our offering means we can deliver the care, training and expertise required as well as supporting job growth within the local community.

"The new site will create an additional 15-20 jobs within the Vale of Glamorgan, providing opportunities for the team to be trained in specialist areas such as dog grooming as well as allow us to cater for up to 120 dogs per day across all of our services."

Since setting up the business in 2021, Dog Adventure Land has grown by 1,000%, supporting over 10 times as many dogs as it initially started with. It currently has a waitlist of around 50 dogs with 120 awaiting assessments to join the dog family which provides a stress-free natural environment for the animals.
