Latest crime statistics for Penarth revealed

THE LATEST crime statistics for Penarth have been published, showing an overall increase in recorded incidents in the last two months.

There was a total of 104 reported incidents across St Augustine and Plymouth, Stanwell, and Corneswell in November, up from 86 in October and 95 in September.

The most frequent crime in the St Augustine and Plymouth wards last month were shoplifting, with 10 occurrences, followed by criminal damage, and violence-related offences.

Incidents in these wards increased from 52 in October to 60 in November.

In Stanwell, the most frequent crime were vehicle offences last month. In total 17 incidents were recorded in this ward, up slightly from 15 in October.

For Corneswell, public order offences were the most frequent incidents in both October and November.

A total of 27 crimes were recorded in November in this ward, an increase from 19 the previous month.

In Dinas Powys, there was a spike in vehicle related offences, with 10 reported in November compared to just one in October.

In total, 34 incidents were recorded for Dinas Powys in November, up from 24 in October.

There was also an increase in recorded crime in Llandough: from 18 in October to 23 in November.

The largest difference was seen in the 'violence without injury' category, which went from one in October to nine in November.
