Following the amazing sell-out success of last year's pantomime, The Snow Queen, Penarth Operatic & Dramatic Society (PODS) are in the final stages of rehearsal for this year's panto, which is the timeless classic that everyone loves, Puss in Boots.

The penniless son of a Miller falls in love with a beautiful Princess who can never be his as they live in different worlds. His faithful pet cat puts on a pair of magic boots and is miraculously able to talk.

Puss in Boots comes to life as a mischievous and loveable friend who is determined to help his master find love. Puss tricks everyone into believing that the Miller's son is in fact a wealthy Marquis in order that he can win the hand of the Princess. Full of adventure, excitement, laugh-out-loud comedy and amazing songs, Puss in Boots promises to be the purr-fect family pantomime.

Puss in Boots is being directed by Fiona Porter-Smith who earlier this year won the Best Director award at the annual Glammies ceremony, hosted by the Glamorgan Drama League, for her direction of PODS production of The Full Monty.

"Puss in Boots is one of my favourite pantos," Fiona commented "and it's perfect for all the family to enjoy - who doesn't love a good panto? We have an amazing cast and the show is going to be wonderful - I can't wait to see everyone on stage bringing this lovely story to life."

Puss in Boots is on at The Paget Rooms in Penarth from Thursday 30th November to Sunday 3rd December with a mix of evening and daytime performances. Some are already almost fully booked so don't delay if you don't want to miss out on what has become an integral part of the festive season in Penarth.

Tickets can be booked on line at www.ticketsource.co.uk/pods - Oh yes they can!
