We asked... you answered!
They might be hidden, but it says a lot about the people of Penarth that you don't want to keep them to yourselves.
Here are your hidden gems:
"I've always loved the Dolly steps by The Glendale down to Alexandra Park."
"Pronto Pizza"
"Love walking from Llandough to Penarth to grab a coffee from Willmore's 1938, a cheeky pickup from online shopping The Queen B Boutique."
"Windsor fruit and veg shop in arcade."
"We've only just discovered the alpacas!"
"My wife, but her name starts with a J - Jemma"
"Not hidden, but a little gem nevertheless. The Windsor Tea Rooms, top of the arcade."
"The Troll Bridge with the wild garlic smell."
"The Fairy Steps! I still love going down them when I'm visiting."
"Beautiful Gardens like Alexandra Park and Belle Vue... but also other play parks like the Rec (Plassey Square), and Cosmeston Country Park. The architecture... Churches, the Victorian and Edwardian splendour of some of the bigger houses... but even the more ordinary houses of this era also sport the almost unique Yellow Bricks... so seldom seen anywhere else. And it all comes together to create a small town with a great sense of place. A community where although so many have come from somewhere else since 1865..... everyone can access Being Penarthians. Oh, and the Greengrocers in the Arcade."
"Some great pubs that support live music ( or there used to be)"
"A hot beef roll from Lush's butchers"
"Willmore's"
"The Old Custom House Penarth a beautiful building housing two great restaurants with amazing views."
"The people are the hidden gems every one knows some thing some amazing talents stories paintings photos to name a few great place!"
"Pretty coastal town, beautiful buildings, well maintained parks, great bars, lovely cafes and restaurants, fabulous walks, good sports facilities including my tennis club PLTC and not forgetting the kind people of Penarth."
"A hidden gem in my very biased opinion is Penarth Masonic Hall, and in particular the Grand Temple."
"Bar44"
"The Lavernock battery along the cliff tops walk and another was walking behind custom house and the derelict building next to it and taking a walk around the coast line to Penarth beach."
"The Dolly steps"
