The Harvester on Lavernock Road has revealed that staff at its site have received job offers at the new Ego Restaraunt, which is set to replace it.

Last week, Penarth Nub News reported that the longstanding Harvester Restaraunt, at the Schooner, would be closing its doors this month.

The branch has since responded with an official statement.

A Harvester spokesperson said: "We continually review our estate and are always looking for the best opportunities to deliver our famous Harvester offer.

''The Schooner will close on Sunday 16th February and the site will be leased to Ego restaurants.

''The team have been consulted and have all been offered job opportunities at the new restaurant.

"We'd like to thank our loyal fans for their support over the years.

''They can find their next nearest Harvester at Cardiff Bay."
