Greggs have launched their new vegan steak bake range and Penarth is stocked up just in time for Veganuary.
The vegan steak bake is made up of 96 thin layers of puff pastry but is created without the egg glaze.
The filling is made with pieces of the fungi-based protein Quorn instead of beef, mixed with diced onions and meat-free gravy.
The vegan treat costs £1.55 and has been rolled out to 1,300 stores with Penarth being one of them.
Other stores will receive stock on January 16th 2020.
Roger Whiteside, chief executive at Greggs, said: "Our vegan sausage roll launch was a huge success and we've been working tirelessly to expand our vegan friendly offering and provide more delicious savoury food on-the-go options for people looking to reduce their meat intake.
"The launch of our vegan steak bake is another key milestone on our journey to become our customers' favourite for food-on-the-go. We look forward to hearing the feedback."
