GALLERY: Graffiti "blight" worsens across the town over bank holiday weekend

A number of spots around Penarth have been tagged by vandals over the past few days.
Tagging is the act of marking a building or public property with graffitied insignia.
It is self-perpetuating, as rival groups then add their own tag to mark territory or simply to indulge in the competitive spirit.
The area of the Washington Buildings above Willmore's 1938 cafe was recently tagged.
Newly vandalised spots include the Church Road sign, a number of telephone cabinets, a telephone box, the Welsh Water pump house on the Esplanade, and the walls of several alleyways.
An anarchist graffiti campaign which struck towards the end of last year appears to have subsided.
Nub News approached South Wales Police for further information with regard to the number of reported incidents and what is being done to address them.
They replied:
"Police in Penarth have been made aware of graffiti to the side of a building on Stanwell Road, Penarth.
"Graffiti is a real blight on our community and we hope that members of the public can help us to identify those responsible for this damage.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The quote reference applies specifically to the Washington Buildings incident.
