Further resurfacing works coming to Cliff Hill

Further resurfacing works will commence on Cliff Hill next week, this time on the pavement.

Works start next monday (22 March) and finish on the Friday (26 March).

This comes precisely a month after sections of the seafront were closed to traffic for two weeks to resurface the road and install parking signage and road lines.

The extent of disruption next week is currently unknown.

"It's all very well making the road look like a billiard table, but it's a pity the pavement isn't the same," Vale Cabinet Member for Transport and Neighbourhood Services Cllr Peter King, told Nub News.

"The whole move is towards active travel and we've been desperately trying to invest money in footpaths and pavements.

"The problem is you get so much fuss about potholes that it's hard to find money for pavements. Black top, as they call it, is expensive stuff.

"But we've found some money and we're going to do the footpath there as well."
