The Friends of Seel Park has now been formally created at an open meeting of residents.

The group aims to help ensure Seel Park is a well-maintained and safe public site which can enhance the quality of life for local people by improving their physical and mental health and act as a focus for bringing people together.

The meeting was addressed by Dave Knevett of the Vale Council who explained the current situation regarding funding.

As always there are challenges but efforts were being made to provide an addition set of swings. Chris Franks asked if there was a bid within the council for significant investment in the play area.

This is an important sources of funding. Apparently Seel Park has been put forward however other play areas are also making bids.

The meeting received the latest safety inspection report for the park.

There were issues which the Friends would be considering in detail.

The next step is to have a working party of residents to paint the railings.
