FRIENDS of Victoria Square who maintain Penarth's Green Flag-awarded parkland surrounding All Saints Church, will be holding a plant & cake Sale on Saturday, 11 October from 11am to 1pm.

The sale will take place at Stanwell Road Baptist Church Hall, Victoria Road, Penarth.

Friends members have been nurturing plants ready for the sale over the past few months and are also receiving donations from local businesses and the general public.

Plans are also in the making for contributions of home made cakes and savouries ready for the day.

Apart from the traditional offerings of plants and cakes, it will feature the sale of books from £1, a raffle with tickets costing £2, and will also have a dedicated seating areas to enjoy eating cakes, savouries, and home made rolls, with a cup of tea or coffee.

A spokesperson said: "For those of you who have supported us in the past you will appreciate the range of products on offer. For those who have not sampled our fare, come along you will not be disappointed

"This event is one of the most important fund raising opportunities in the year for us, particularly as we are post initial grant funding and need to raise funds to continue maintaining the Square.

"Your support will enable us to do this."
