Penarth's Town Mayor Cllr Angela Thomas is holding a fundraising concert with a local folk band in aid of the National Autistic Society Cardiff and the Vale.

The evening will take place in Penarth Paget Rooms with a special appearance from The Brwmys: A foot-stomping, jig-tastic, future folk group from Cardiff.

The evening will be playing an eclectic mix of Bluegrass to Bhangra, Irish to Arabic and everything in between.

Cardiff and the Vale NAS Branch is a self-funded parent/carer – led voluntary support group who meet regularly to exchange information, advice and support in a sociable and friendly atmosphere.

They have monthly coffee mornings in both Cardiff and Barry, and regularly run workshops and keynote speaker events on a range of topics relating to autism.

They are committed to raising awareness and understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorders in Cardiff and the Vale area.

After forming in 2012, The Brwmys have been spreading their music.

Their Influences are predominantly folk, rock and blues, but these are combined with flavours of Asia, South America, and the middle-east to give the band an unusual and unique sound.

Mayor, Angela Thomas said: ''I am so excited about seeing these amazing guys on the 29th February at the Paget Rooms. The Brwmys are giving their time for a fundraiser for my chosen charity the NAS and it's set to be a jig-tastastic foot-stomping night. Thanks guys.''

Tickets are available online by clicking the red button and also from Foxys Deli and Hi-Plan copy print during February.

On the door is £6.50.
