Summer is in full swing, and so is Penarth's Summer Art Competition, organised by Penarth Business Group!

With only two weeks left until the submission deadline on Saturday, 2 September 2023, local young artists are invited to showcase their imaginative creativity in two categories.

EITHER a 'Shop Local' poster promoting the importance of shopping with local businesses

OR a representation of your favourite Penarth shop, eatery, business or shopping area in any medium (for example painting, collage, sculpture, photography, computer aided design…)

There are two age categories: up to 12 years old, and aged 12-17 inclusive.

Enthusiastic participants are encouraged to drop off their inspired artworks at one of the designated drop-off points: Griffin Books located at 9A Windsor Road, Glass by Design at 1 Station Approach, Penarth Library situated on Stanwell Road, or View Publishing at Milkshed, 1a Machen Street.

All entries will be proudly displayed inside local shops and businesses throughout the month of September. A panel of judges will evaluate the submissions to crown a winner in each category. In addition to this, a 'People's Choice' award will be decided through a public vote.

The pinnacle of this creative extravaganza will be the prize-giving ceremony, due to be held in October, where winners will be honoured by the Town Mayor. This event promises to be a celebration of local talent, imagination, and the communal spirit that makes Penarth shine.

Don't miss this final opportunity to be a part of Penarth's Summer Art Competition, and celebrate our town's unique character.
