Penarth Town Council's cemetery dumper truck was stolen last month, a report has revealed.

At a meeting on Thursday, councillors will be informed that the vehicle was taken at approximately 3pm on Tuesday 25 May.

It has been "replaced by a second hand unit under the provision of our insurance".

South Wales Police told Nub News: "The truck keys were locked away at the time and the theft was not captured on CCTV, so the exact circumstances are unknown.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting occurrence 2100182360."
