The socially-distanced reopening of Dinas Powys Library has been a success according to the board of trustees.

The new-look library sees bookworms booking visit slots in which they request a certain book that they are handed in a bag. When they return, the book is placed in a crate which is placed into quarantine for three days before re-entering circulation.

When Dinas Powys Library trustees and supporters met to review the recommencement of issuing books, Chair of trustees Chris Franks said:

"The system is working really well. We are constantly assessing the situation to ensure the safety of all. If we can expand hours and services we will as long as it is appropriate."

In a conversation with Nub News, Mr Franks said that his experience with customers is that they feel safe, secure and glad to be back:

"I was having a chat with one woman who says she's been five times since the reopening. She was clearly very relaxed and pleased with the measures we've taken."

If you want to order a book or make a return please phone 02920 512556. Face masks are available to purchase.
