The number of COVID-19 reported in central Penarth slightly declined last week. Between 31 Oct and 6 Nov, eight cases were reported in the area, down from nine the previous week.

This places central Penarth in the third lowest decile for COVID rates in Wales, with 75.2 cases per 100,000.

Surrounding areas, however, have experienced a rise in case numbers.

Cogan and Llandough reported 25 cases (281.4 per 100,000), rising from 15 the previous week and placing the area in Wales' third highest decile.

Cases in Lower Penarth and Sully reached 23 (219.2 per 100,000), also rising from 15 the previous week and placing the area in Wales' third highest decile.

Cases in Dinas Powys declined to 15 (186.3 per 100,000) from 19 the previous week. The area remains in Wales' fourth highest decile.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council say it is still too early to see the impact the firebreak lockdown has had on transmission rates.
