Coronavirus Care Group Deliver Treat Boxes to Vulnerable Residents Across Penarth

A community care network in Penarth has been delivering packages brimming with local treats to residents registered with them to bring a bit of positivity during these darker times.
The COVID Care Network in Penarth has been looking after the most vulnerable in the community during these difficult times.
The boxes were made up of items donated by local businesses including:
• The Glendale Hotel - Penne Pasta in tomato sauce, mushrooms, courgettes and aubergine OR Traditional Spaghetti Beef Ragu (Bolognese)• The Lily Pad Florist - Lily Plant
• Hamptons Penarth - Homemade soap with essential oils• Foxy's Deli - Welsh Cakes and Tea
• Ener-chi Organics Ltd - Lemongrass and Rosemary Soap and Pukka Tea• Fauvette - Luxury Cheese
• Dotty Pots - Paint for the Rainbows• Not Socks Again - Tissue Paper, Ribbons and Treats
• Jo Organics - Treats• Lemon Drizzle Muffins by Kate Thomas
They also included strawberries dipped in melted chocolate for an extra sweet surprise.
The team have worked hard to collect, create and deliver the boxes and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Jason Korineck, the founder of the group, said: ''Incredible support from many local businesses and our delivery Team of Hayley, Huwie, Nick and Matt.
''85-year-old Mair and 83-year-old Bernice were so happy to receive their Goody Boxes.
''One elderly couple were so overwhelmed that they were in tears and the daughter of an 88-year-old man has just called me to say he is emotional 'a tough old cookie to crack'…..but he has 'cracked today' and is well and truly touched.
''A massive thank you to everyone.''
Messages of thanks have streamed into the group as residents received their treats.
Sadler Jones said: ''Absolutely blown away by the surprise parcel my parents just received. They have been self-isolating for a while now as my dad's chemo has been delayed. This has made their month.''
Keith said: ''I just wanted to say I'm a bit emotional and overwhelmed by this fabulous box of goodies that you brought to my house this morning.
''Thank you so much and a huge thank you to all businesses who contributed.''
Another resident said: ''Thank you so much from all of us. We had a really tough morning and the box really cheered me up. I was amazed by it all and will enjoy it all. Thank you for thinking of us.''
