Helping Hands, the local community group founded during the pandemic, is appealing to residents to nominate an unpaid carer they know to receive a reward.

This comes on the eve of Carers Week (7-13 June), which aims to recognise the 6.5 million people who act as carers across the UK.

"Carers week, is something that I feel passionately about," said Helping Hands founder Kathryn Easthope.

"As a full time unpaid carer, for my son and now husband (who is suffering from post-covid) I understand the challenges that carers face -

the frustration, loneliness and, at times, feeling of being forgotten.

"Carers week highlights the work many of us do daily and I am but one of many."

Kathryn urges residents to get in touch via 07745475794 or find them on Facebook - @helpinghandspenarth.
