A fundraising event for Penarth Lifeboat is to be held on the first day of next month.

Pickford's Galley and Bar on the town's Esplanade is hosting a 'Fish Supper' on Saturday, 1 October at 7pm.

The menu includes a crab salad starter, oven-roasted Hake and a cheesboard and tickets are £30.

They are available in advance from Pickfords (tel 02920700333).

And on Thursday, 17 November a Beaujolais Day will be held at Penarth Yacht Club (12 for 12.30pm).

The menu includes French Onion Soup and Beef Bourguigon.

Tickets are £25 and can be obtained from Penarth Yacht Club (call 0292070 8196 after 4pm)

Another fundraiser planned by Penarth RNLI later this year is a wreath-making event in December and organisers are asking if a local florist might want to get involved.
