The continued delay in constructing and opening the bridge to both the Primary School and the Library has caused significant problems.

The Vale Council contractors have demolished the bridge however progress has stalled for a significant period.

Now local Community Councillor Keith Hatton attended a meeting with the council, the school and the library to seek to resolve issues and complete the project.

The Plaid Community Councillor, who is a school governor and library trustee, said that school deliveries had been disrupted including a consignment of 180 new chairs, grass cutting was not possible and resurfacing has been delayed.

He said: "Thanks to the serious support of Bethesda Chapel the school staff and library users can use their car park.

"Without this assistance the situation would be a lot worse. Improvement plans of the school have been seriously delayed.

"The elderly and disabled have been deterred from using the library facilities. This has affected income."

Chair of the Library Trustees Chris Franks said the library had been badly treated.

He said: "Library users have to face an obstacle course to access the building.

"We are working hard to recover from the lockdown. This is yet another blow to our hard working volunteers.

"Nevertheless we are coping and have just had a very successful series of events for children and an art exhibition. We could do without the stress."
