Schools in Penarth will not open to all pupils for face-to-face teaching this week.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council announced the news following a meeting with all schools today.

Provision will be made for vulnerable children and the children of critical workers.

Previously the council expected schools to be able to re-open from Wednesday 6 January, subject to appropriate staffing levels and risk assessments.

More to follow.
