After a long wait, Brød, the successful Danish bakery, has opened its doors in Penarth.

Penarth Nub News announced the plans for the popular shop's opening in September.

The bakery sells a variety of Danish products including bread, pastries, cakes, savouries and coffees.

There is a seating area and wifi for customers available in the store and dogs are allowed to visit the store too.

The shop will be open from Tuesday – Saturday: 8.30 am – 5.00 pm and Sunday: 9.30 am – 4.30 pm

Brød has replaced the Robert James shop, 6 Glebe Street, which occupied the building previously.

Brød was created by Betina Skovbro, from Denmark, who moved to Wales in 1998.

She opened a shop on Wyndham Crescent in Pontcanna and this is where it all began.

They recently won the award of Britain's Best Loaf for 2019.
