Brød, an award winning Danish bakery that originally launched in Cardiff, is opening its doors in Penarth.

On their Facebook page they announced the exciting news:

''We're delighted to announce that Brød #2 will be in Penarth! 6 Glebe St to be exact, coming this Autumn.

''We're busy with renovation, recipe development and more behind the scenes!

''We hope for your further support & look forward to opening.''

Brød replaces Robert James which occupied the store previously.

Brød was created by Betina Skovbro, from Denmark, who moved to Wales in 1998.

She opened a shop on Wyndham Crescent and this is where it all began.

The bakery sells a variety of Danish products including bread, pastries, cakes, savouries and coffees.

They recently won the award of Britain's Best Loaf for 2019.
