Dinas Powys Art Group is staging its second Art Festival for the local community on September 21st – September 22nd.

There will be plenty to see and do over the weekend, and when you need a break there will be tea or coffee and homemade cakes on sale in the Parish Hall.

A number of "arty" things will be taking place on the Village Square in the centre of Dinas Powys. We are particularly excited about our first ever Community Art Project, "Take Part in Art", which we have set up for you to get involved in creating a Dinas Powys masterpiece. Our aim is to get as many people as possible contributing to the creation of a 2-metre-high painted tree on canvas. It will be great fun and a fabulous opportunity for everyone to give painting a go. No experience is necessary, all materials will be provided, and it is accessible to all.

Additionally on the Village Square you can see artists in action.

Some members of the art group will be painting local village scenes and they would be delighted if you got involved and painted along with them.

To whet your appetite for the main event, the well-known and much loved annual Dinas Powys Art Exhibition, there will be a small display of the group's artworks on the Village Square. Our pictures can also be experienced on our festival postcards and posters. There are 17 different designs around the village. How many have you seen?

Over the road in the Parish Hall (Britway Road, CF64 4AF), there will be an exhibition of over 150 original pieces of art, all created by members of the Dinas Powys Art Group and curated by local professional artist, Mr Glyn Pooley. For those of you new to our exhibition, you will be amazed by the quality and diversity of artwork being created in the Vale. For our regular visitors, you will not be disappointed.

Come along with your friends and family for a relaxing few hours viewing the artworks and "taking part in art"………as well as treating yourself to a homemade cake!

This year chosen charities are Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern and Brain Tumour Support.

The art exhibition in the Parish Hall runs from 10am to 4pm both days and entrance is £1 for adults. The outside activities run from 11am until 3pm.

Details of all the festival events can be found on the group's website (https://www.dinaspowysartgroup.org.uk/) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dinaspowysartgroup/).
