Another tidal cut off call-out for RNLI Penarth

Penarth D class lifeboat was requested to launch at 3.15pm today in response to reports of four adults and a dog cut off by the tide in the Ball Rock area (near Swanbridge).

The lifeboat attended, along with Penarth Coastguard Rescue Team, and a search was undertaken.

No persons were found in the area, and it appeared the group had made their own way back - so the crews returned to their stations.

"The tidal range in the Bristol Channel is one of the highest in the world, so it's always important to be aware of the tide times when out and about near the coast," said an RNLI spokesperson.
