The Sully Village Group (SVG) reached out to Nub News to spread the word that an elderly couple in the local area are on the hunt for a dog after their therapy spaniel, Fudge, passed away two days ago.

Elaine and John Conners live locally and have had their King Charles for a long time. His death has hit them particularly hard and, given the current uncertainty and disruption from Coronavirus, they are looking to bring a new pup into their lives.

John suffers from a debilitating condition which requires around the clock care.

Fudge was a therapy dog who was great company, very loving and a calming personality around the house.

Their only close relative is their son who lives in America and he recently lost his wife so is unable to get to them at the moment.

They need a small dog suited to a quiet life. A puppy or a fairly young dog which can be either male or female (ideally under 3 years old).

Their only concern is that they would like to stay away from having another King Charles, as they'd find it too hard to have the same breed.

SVG said: ''It's so hard finding her a dog during lockdown but she's desperately lonely and missing their dog so much. We'd love to be able to help her.''

Anyone who might be able to help Elaine and John should email her on [email protected].
