"Have you got what it takes?" - Coastguard recruiting volunteers

The 2021 recruitment window for volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officers at Penarth Coastguard is now open.
Penarth Coastguard Rescue is team of volunteers from all backgrounds who are trained in Water Rescue, Mud Rescue, Emergency Casualty Care, Lost & Missing Persons Search, Pyrotechnics & Ordnance Response, 4x4 driving and a number of other specialist skills.
They are managed by a team of full-time officers/instructors.
In a recent social media post, the team appealed for new recruits:
"Have you always wanted to give back in your community? Do you have a full driving licence? Are you over the age of 18, physically fit & in good health? Could you live with a pager?
"If you are interested in joining, then you must fit the following criteria:
Have some availability either during the working day or night & if your employer will release you from your own career for incidents where permissible.Aged 18 or above.
Reside/work within 5 - 10 minutes from your chosen station.Be physically fit.
Subject to Criminal Record Background Check.Full clean UK driving licence.
"You must complete a full medical and be available to attend our initial New Entry Training
"We'd like to hear from you, men and women of all ages.
"No experience is necessary - you will be trained To Search, To Rescue, To Save."
