Healthcare therapists are considered key workers and may continue operating during the "firebreak" lockdown, according to a Government list published today.

The Welsh Government includes "dental services, opticians, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractors, osteopaths and health services, including services relating to mental health" among the services authorised to remain open.

David Langdon, founder of Langdon Osteopathy, says members of the public should feel confident using healthcare therapy services during the period.

"Langdon Osteopathy & Rachel Disley Physiotherapy will be open for business as usual at John Bruno Total Fitness on Glebe St," he told Nub News.

"We do remote case histories now to reduce face-to-face time. Then we get people to sterilise their hands. I wear a mask and an apron. I ask patients to bring in their own towels and then to disinfect their hands again on the way out. So it's a pretty low risk environment that is deep cleaned regularly.

"Please don't suffer in pain when you can get help."

Penarth Osteopathic Practice on Westbourne Road will also not be closing its doors:

"Following the announcement of the "Fire-breaker" lockdown in Wales from 23rd October to 9th November, as key workers in healthcare, we are able to continue working," they said in a social media post.

"We do however ask you only attend any appointments if you are well and have no symptoms of cough, temperature etc."
